“The best wine for the meal doesn’t have to cost the most, but will bring the most happiness.”

It was a dream, 25+years in the making. At the tender age of four, Charles Stanford was taught how to pull a cork from a wine bottle and how to fill the dinner guest’s glasses without spilling. (Sometimes they would have to lower the glass from the table so he could reach). His father, Don Stanford wore a multitude of titles including but not limited to: an author, a host, a story teller, a sommelier, a traveler and a Cordon Bleu trained ‘hobby chef’ – dinners by dad were fantastic journeys through several courses of authentic cuisine, and a multitude of flavors and textures. His mother, Frances learned to cook, (she found herself up until the sun rose washing dishes after dad’s culinary masterpieces) but truth be told….her dinners were enjoyed just as much. The family spent their summers eating their way across the European Countryside, and special occasions were marked by dinners at fancy restaurants in their nicest attire. It was no surprise that young Charlie was drawn towards food and wine, and flourished quickly in his restaurant career. He felt instantly at home welcoming weary travelers and local alike into his abode for quality food and great wine. Charlie’s love for Authentic Italian Food is equaled only by his love for great wines. As a Sommelier, Certified by The International Sommelier Guild and The Court of Master Sommeliers, Charlie is always happy to help find the best bottle or glass to pair with your meal. “The best wine for the meal doesn’t have to cost the most, but will bring the most happiness.”
