Welcome to the Wine and Cocktail List at Asti d’Italia. The page preceding has been created by collecting my favorite cocktails from around the world, and adding those classics to a number of signature creations found nowhere else. I hope that you enjoy a favored well-known potion, or venture into something new and exciting. Please note that the creativity did not end with the pre-dinner drink, but continued onto dessert where we hope you will linger over a Dessert Martini at the end of your meal– (medium sweet and very cold).
The Wines on the following pages have been collected over the past few years of diligently studying trends, growing seasons, ratings, and (most importantly) flavor profiles. The diversity of Italian wine is due to the vast number of varietals of grapes vinified into wine. The Italians are proficient in the classics like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, and in addition to these, lay claim to unique indigenous grape varietals such as Vernaccia, Inzolia, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and over two thousand others. Italy offers us light and fruity wines to enjoy with lunch or before dinner, medium bodied dry wines to compliment simple pastas, and full bodied, pensive elixirs reserved for celebrations and milestones. Ca' Donini Pinot Grigio is a dry, white wine with fresh green reflections. The bouquet is intense with enticing fragrances of fresh citrus fruit and Granny Smith Apple. On the palate, it's crisp, well-balanced body is enhanced with hints of ripe tropical fruit and spices that carry it through to a refreshing, dry finish.

Intense straw yellow; the bouquet is ample, fruity and intense, with excellent persistence. On the palate, full body, mellow and especially well balanced. This is the way Pinot Grigio originated fifty years ago, few producers give this grape the care it deserves today.

Bright, deep and intense pink in color, Le Rose offers an intriguing yet delicate bouquet of cherry, raspberry, blackberry, and mulberry. Rich, persistent with refreshing acidity, this is what Sicilians enjoy in the torrid summer.

This Organic Chardonnay offers fresh pure aromas of chardonnay fruit characters with nuances of citrus and pear followed by natural juicy fruit flavors on the palate and a balanced clean finish
Snoqualmie Riesling 2009 30
Clean with medium intense grapefruit, peach and pear. Light-medium sweet style with medium mouth-watering acidity. The fruit characteristics are similar to the nose, although there seems to be some hint of a tropical fruit such as pineapple. An enjoyable, lingering aftertaste of delightful sweetness and marmalade

Nose: an intense varietal scent of peach with hints of grapefruit, aromatic herbs (especially sage) and tomato leaves.

Rich with notes of vanilla, citrus, pear and melons. Complex fruit aromas are complimented by hints of toast and vanilla. A full bodied Chardonnay with a smooth buttery feel, ripe fruit flavors, crisp high acid, and a rich lingering finish.

Italian Reds
North-West Italy
Castelvero Barbera 2008 29
The pure fruit is immediately noticed in Castelvero Barbera’s perfumey, open nose, which bursts with red cherries, black raspberry, hints of spice and earth. The palate has ripe black and red cherry fruit, raspberry, touches of cranberry and spice, all delivered on a smooth texture.
The La Court estate, thanks to its excellent soil, made up of magnesium rich Asti calcareous marl, and to the South, South-West exposure is the jewel in the farm's crown. The vineyard has been run with maniacal care so as to obtain grapes of exraordinary quality suited to producing a uniquly rich and aristocratically elegant wine. The characteristics of this cru are; a complex yet delicate and fascinating bouquet, rich in notes of ripe fruit, and a full bodied palate, ample, rich and delicate.
The nose is delicate and fruity with undertones of blackberry complimenting the red raspberries and strawberries. The palate is medium to full for Pinot, with a darker color indicating some savory/food friendly characteristics.

Dark plummy red color. Gentle nose of dark fruit, raisin, and a little floral element. Palate was round, with sweet and fairly velvety mouthfeel. Displays a lighter body suggestive of the great Amarones of larger price tags. Plum and chocolate cherry fruit on attack, with a persistent and strong note of cinnamon in the finish.

Bright, ruby-red. The bouquet is intense, fragrant with elegant scents of iris, raspberries and spices. The taste is dry, full and harmonious with an elegant aftertaste of toasted almonds and fruit.

100% Primitivo, a clone of the California Zinfandel that has a nice spice from the Puglian heat, and a ripe dark fruit nose. 40% of the wine is aged in oak and the remainder in stainless steel. The partial oak aging slightly softens the spice and helps smooth the finish
Donnafugata "Sedara" Nero d'Avola 2008 32
The ruby-red color is rounded out by lively garnet reflections. The impact on the nose is intense with sensations of tobacco, spices and mineral notes. In the mouth, the wine is balanced with fruity flavors, mainly blackberries and cherries. Persistent finish.
